Professional Biography
Stella Beale (she/her) is the Dean of Faculty at Marin Academy in San Rafael, California, and serves as the Director of the Penn Fellows program at Marin Academy. Stella earned her B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, her M.A.Ed. from Wake Forest University, and her M.Ed. in Private School Leadership at Teachers College/Columbia University. Stella has worked in schools—both public and private—for over twenty-five years and is committed to and passionate about progressive pedagogy, faculty development and mentorship, and the creation of more equitable systems in schools. Stella is also a proud mother and an avid runner and hiker. When she's not in school, attending or leading a professional development workshop, or reading educational theory, she can most often be found pounding the pavement or hitting the trails.
