Professional Biography
Peter H. Garland is Executive Vice Chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education where he has also served as Assistant Chancellor for Policy and Planning and Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs. He served as acting Chancellor for seven months beginning March 1, 2013. He has served as Executive Director of the Pennsylvania State Board of Education, the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Assistant Commissioner for Higher Education, and Acting Commissioner of Higher Education. In addition, he held positions in student affairs administration at The Pennsylvania State University and The College of William and Mary in Virginia.
Dr. Garland is a lecturer at Penn GSE, where he teaches in the higher education master’s and executive doctoral programs.
