Professional Biography
As an adjunct instructor, Jeffrey Mordan teaches Methods of Visual Arts in the Independent School Residency Program and Integrating Visual Arts and Technology into the Classroom for the Urban Teaching Apprenticeship Program. He began teaching workshops on Visual Arts at Penn’s Graduate School of Education in 2005.
In his 25+ teaching career he has taught a wide variety of grades and disciplines including preschool, kindergarten, visual arts, physical education, health & wellness, technology, and STEAM with a focus on progressive pedagogy, creativity, design thinking, and mindfulness. An energetic creator, earnest team builder, and relentless problem-solver, he has been responsible for multiple departments over his 15+ years of administrative experience including visual arts, music, Spanish, PE, DEI, technology, communications, and auxiliary programming. Within each he has led hiring, budgets, curriculum creation and reviews, professional development and evaluations.
He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art and a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Jeffrey is currently the Director of Systems and Innovation at The Philadelphia School.
