Professional Biography
Melissa Viola-Askey’s work focuses on supporting secondary social studies teachers through professional learning, curriculum development, and coaching. She was most recently a sixth grade U.S. history teacher in a Title I middle school and has experience teaching history at the high school level, as well as K-12 reading classes. Viola-Askey earned her B.A. in History and Ed.M. in Secondary Social Studies Education from the University at Buffalo, and recently completed a Post-Master’s Certificate program in Educational Leadership and Administration from the George Washington University.
