Biography

Andrew Housiaux teaches history and philosophy classes at Princeton Day School (PDS), where he is also the co-director of the Independent School Teaching Residency Program. Prior to PDS, he worked at Phillips Academy (Andover, MA), where he taught philosophy and religious studies for 14 years, lived in a dorm and coached several sports, and held a range of leadership roles, including department chair, director of the Tang Institute, and co-founder of Listening to the Buddhists in Our Backyard. He is on the teaching team for FORGE, a professional development program for mid-career educators offered through the Klingenstein Center at Teachers College, Columbia University, and has published in Educational Leadership, Phi Delta Kappan, and the Teachers College Record. He has degrees from Columbia University and Harvard Divinity School.
