Introduction

The Impact of Brain-Based Learning Processes course is one of three courses part of the Social-Emotional Teaching & Learning in the Trauma-Informed Classroom Certificate Program. This course explores how brain-based learning and behavioral challenges—such as memory, attention, processing speed, and executive functioning—affect student success. Educators gain practical strategies to support comprehension, engagement, and achievement in inclusive classrooms that serve a wide range of learners, including students with special needs. Alongside deepening their understanding of The Four Lenses pedagogy, participants also learn how special education systems function, ensuring that no student is overlooked and all have opportunities to thrive.
