Overview

The veriii AC Research Foundations program, a collaboration between Penn GSE and KSE Global Education, is an academic enhancement program designed to build foundational research skills and provide high school students with hands-on project experience.

The Penn GSE Teacher Professional Development program for the veriii AC Research Foundations curriculum engages educators and schoolteachers in professional development that focus on project-based learning and its direct applications to teaching the AC Research Foundations curriculum.

Student-Centered Research Curriculum

The veriii AC Research Foundations curriculum equips students with foundational research skills through a project-based learning approach. Rooted in Penn GSE’s expertise in project-based learning and academic research, the curriculum supports students as they explore authentic research questions while building academic research literacy across disciplines.

The curriculum introduces students to various disciplinary research methods and ways of knowing, fostering critical thinking and inquiry. Over the course of 30 lesson hours structured across 6 modules, students will engage in identifying compelling questions, selecting and applying appropriate research strategies, analyzing findings and showcasing scholarly work.

Innovative Teacher Professional Development Program

Are you an Educator or Schoolteacher?

Penn GSE is engaged in ongoing research and development into the core teaching practices of project-based learning (PBL) within research projects and programs. Drawing on this research, Penn GSE offers highly innovative and experiential professional development programs for teachers. The Penn GSE Teacher Professional Development program for the AC Curriculum engages educators in professional development that focus on project-based learning and its direct applications to teaching the AC Research Foundations curriculum.

The professional development program includes 10 hours of virtual synchronous sessions and 10 hours of asynchronous homework. Upon completion of the program, teachers should feel prepared and equipped to teach the veriii AC Research Foundations program curriculum, and will earn a Certificate of Participation in Project-Based Learning.
