Professional Biography
Joe Brereton is principal of John Barclay Elementary School in the Central Bucks School District. Previously, he was principal of Simon Butler Elementary School, where he oversaw 850 students and was named Pennsylvania’s National Distinguished Principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals in 2016. He has served as Chair of the Central Bucks School District’s Strategic Planning Committee for Best Practices in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and has mentored nearly two dozen principals and aspiring school leaders over the past fifteen years. Additionally, he has conducted research and provided leadership training to mentor teachers and school principals in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Dr. Brereton holds an M.S.Ed. and Principal Certification from Penn GSE and a Ph.D. in Comparative and International Education from Lehigh University.
