Professional Biography
An instructor with the Independent School Residency Program at Penn GSE, Dana Kooistra is the Lawrenceville School’s Director of Teaching, Learning, and External Partnerships. She has been a member of the faculty since 2005 and currently teaches ninth-grade history and the senior electives on Bioethics and Mass Incarceration.
Before settling at Lawrenceville, Dana taught in independent schools across the northeast including CITYterm, an experiential semester program focused on New York.
Dana is a graduate of Wellesley College and holds a master’s in arts in Educational Philosophy from Teachers College, Columbia University. She also participated in Columbia’s Klingenstein Summer Institute.
