Professional Biography
Dr. Jay Mehta is the Academic Director for the Research and Capstone Blocks of Penn GSE’s master’s program in Medical Education. He graduated from this program in 2018.
He is Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He serves as a pediatric rheumatologist, Program Director for the Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship, and Associate Program Director for the Pediatrics Residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
He is currently funded by a three-year Rheumatology Research Foundation Clinician Scholar Educator Award to use a qualitative approach to study how pediatrics residents and early career pediatric rheumatologists navigate career transitions. He is also a Founder and Steering Co-Chair for the CHOP Center for Learning and Innovation in Medical Education.
Nationally, he serves as the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Association (CARRA) Rare Diseases Chair and Chair of the American College of Rheumatology Pediatrics Committee.
