Professional Biography
Kate Ward is a science teacher and fellow mentor at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, Missouri. In the 2022-2023 school year, she became the Day School Teaching Residency Program Director. Kate is a proud alumna of John Burroughs, and she has taught science there since 2015. She has taken on many different roles during her time at Burroughs, including Student Court Co-Sponsor, admissions interviewer, Science Department self-study committee leader, and most recently, mentor to a Science Fellow. Prior to John Burroughs, she taught in Los Angeles for six years, where she was the head of middle school science and a lead advisor. While in Los Angeles, she also founded the Lucas Scholars Program, a summer program that helped the underserved youth of the surrounding areas. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Williams College with a major in psychology and a concentration in neuroscience.
