"The court has handed universities a gift, if they choose to accept it. This ruling is a huge wake-up call for every level of higher education to embrace the 21st century and not treat athletes differently than any other student on campus.

"In that way, it opens a path for universities to leverage one of their greatest overlooked strengths — a lifelong educational relationship with their athlete populations. But if the college leaders who make up the NCAA continue to deny reality, I am sure the other student-athlete legal cases in the pipeline will benefit from this unanimous ruling by the Court."
