Tony Sinanis Named 2014 NYS Elementary Principal of the Year

March 21, 2014 - Cantiague Elementary School principal Tony Sinanis has been chosen as the 2014 New York State Elementary Principal of the Year.  This annual award, provided by the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS) and the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), selects one outstanding candidate from an array of nominees.  These nominees are typically administrators who create a better overall community by providing exceptional experiences for their students and parents.

Sinanis is a member of GSE's Cohort 11 in the Mid-Career Doctoral Program in Ed Leadership.  He is known at Cantiague Elementary for the incorporation of social media and technology into his duties in order to bring together faculty, parents, and staff.  He is incredibly involved in Cantiague Elementary, as he frequently plays with the children during breaks and teaches lessons in the classroom.  Sinanis excels in his position because he takes an active role in the day-to-day environment of the school and has a particular interest in the success of each student.

At the Century House in Latham, New York on May 9, Sinanis will be honored and presented his award.  Click here to read more about this award.
