Urban Teaching Apprenticeship Program
B.A. in Political Science and International Relations Carleton CollegeHi everyone! My name is Mandy Duong, and I am a Minnesota native studying in the Urban Teaching Apprenticeship Program (UTAP). I am currently pursuing certification in Secondary Social Studies education. For my field placement, I am teaching U.S. History at Furness High School in South Philly. I find teaching really challenging, but also really rewarding as well, especially when I am able to work with students and get to know them and their passions. Outside of teaching and taking coursework at GSE, I enjoy exploring Philly’s different neighborhoods and finding good places to eat.
