The Early Childhood Education and Family Studies academic certificate program and the Penn Early Childhood and Family Research Center co-sponsor a speaker series for the 2024–2025 academic year focused on issues of early childhood development and social policy.
The second event will feature Dr. J. Lawrence Aber from New York University. Dr. Aber is the Willner Family Professor of Psychology and Public Policy at NYU's Steinhardt School and a leading expert in the impact of poverty and violence on child development. He has authored and edited several influential books, including Neighborhood Poverty: Context and Consequences for Children and Child Development and Social Policy: Knowledge for Action. His research and policy work aims to improve the well-being of children and families through innovative programs and evaluations.
