About the Program
Funded by the Institute for Education Sciences, the IES Predoctoral Training program is a competitive fellowship program designed to support and enhance the methodological training of Ph.D. students in any discipline who are committed to careers in applied education research. Fellows have access to specialized resources and field experts, and they receive financial support towards tuition and stipend for two to three years. Fellows gain expertise in interdisciplinary research methods, including randomized controlled trials of education programs, policies, and practices. Fellows gain broader and deeper skills without materially altering their time to degree completion through weekly lectures, special trainings, apprenticeship placements with partner organizations, and participation in research conferences.
