Roland Sintos Coloma is a professor of teacher education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. His research examines the cultural politics of difference in education with a focus on race, class, gender, and sexuality from historical, intersectional, and transnational frameworks. Born in the Philippines and raised in California, Roland was a high school English teacher, minority student affairs professional, and community organizer prior to becoming an academic.
