Please come by to celebrate the National Day on Writing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 20! This is the “Eras Tour” of writing—helping to promote writing as it’s changed over the years.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be fun writing activities, including poetry writing, papermaking, typewriters, and child-focused writing activities (sharing from Philadelphia Writing Project’s Kid Writing projects). From 12 to 1 p.m. we have award-winning poets and authors reading from their work with food provided. And from 1 to 2 p.m., join Barrett Rosser and colleagues to learn about more about the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a competition for local youth writers, including how to serve as a juror.
