Join the Penn GSE community in an enriching One Book, One GSE: Try to Love the Questions discussion of Chapter 3 featuring Dr. Anita Allen, the Henry R. Silverman Professor of Law and Professor of Philosophy at Penn.

As we continue to explore themes of academic discourse, free expression, and thoughtful dialogue across differences, Dr. Allen brings unique insights from her pioneering work in privacy law, ethics, and academic freedom. Drawing on Chapter 3's examination of campus discourse and the balance between free expression and academic standards, Dr. Allen will guide us in discussing how to understand the norms and rules of college discourse.

As a former member of President Obama's Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues and the first African American woman to serve as President of the Eastern Division of the American Philosophical Association, Dr. Allen offers valuable perspective on fostering meaningful dialogue while upholding academic rigor and mutual respect.
