PennGSE Doctoral Students:

Interested in international research?

The International Educational Development Program - Doctoral Concentration (IEDP-D) is a unique cross-program concentration open to all Ph.D. and Ed.D. students enrolled in any one of PennGSE’s doctoral programs.

Research. Opportunities to share and receive feedback on your research during the IEDP-D Proseminar EDUC729 in Spring 2021 (taught by Prof. Dan Wagner). This is a two-hour research seminar that meets every week, for 1 CU. Timing of class will likely be on Weds (or Thurs) at a time TBD.

Summer research. IEDP-D helps to support international field research placements over the summer.

Teaching. Priority for teaching assistantships for core IEDP-Masters classes; micro-teaching opportunities throughout the year.

Community. A community of like-minded global-oriented graduate students and faculty who are committed to working and doing research in developing country contexts across the world.

Professional Development. Skill building workshops as well as potential funding for participation in internationally focused academic activities. Assistance in participation in, and preparation for international conferences.

Networking. Connecting with leaders in the global development field. Past guests have included senior representatives from the World Bank, UNICEF, Save the Children and many other organizations, as well as GSE/IEDP faculty.

We invite all first and second year doctoral students to learn more about the IEDP-D at informational meeting on:
October 16, 2020 – 11:30AM (Philadelphia Time) via Zoom. Please RSVP to Lauren Scicluna, email: sclauren@upenn.edu
