For more than three decades, the McGraw Prize in Education has recognized outstanding individuals deeply committed to harnessing innovation in education to improve the lives of learners worldwide.

This webinar — which will be moderated by Dr. Julie Wollman, Penn GSE Professor of Practice — is one in a series presented by Catalyst @ Penn GSE featuring winners of the Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize for Education. Together, Catalyst and the McGraw Prize are advancing innovation in education through a growing array of programming. This live virtual event will be recorded.

Wilson, who was awarded the McGraw Prize at a November ceremony in NYC, is a trailblazer among HBCU leaders in using predictive analytics to identify students at risk of dropping out. And he extensively revamped Morgan State’s advising model to head off problems early on.

“Simply put, I am living the impossible dreams of my parents and ancestors,” Wilson said at the ceremony while speaking of his childhood that included a lack of full time schooling until sixth grade. “And, it is my responsibility to make sure that the dreams of future generations become more and more possible and attainable.”
