Penn GSE will be hosting a school-wide book discussion group for all students, faculty, and staff. In this book, Moses chronicles his work first pioneering voter registration in the 1960s and later creating the Algebra Project, a reform initiative designed to help African American students achieve a high level of mathematical competency. The book raises important issues about both the role of mathematics in the fight for educational equity and the broader struggle for racial equity in the U.S
