The Teacher Research and Knowledge: A Celebration of Writing and Literacy conference, co-sponsored by Penn GSE's PhilWP and the Teacher Education and Reading/Writing/Literacy programs, emphasized teacher knowledge in reading and literacy practices.
The Penn Futures Project has named three Calvin Bland Faculty Fellows to collaborate on research for boys and young men of color. Supported by a $2 million endowment from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Fellows were selected from the faculty at Penn’s Schools of Nursing , Graduate School of Education, and Social Policy & Practice.
“We need to look beyond education, and beyond school halls, to think about how we can support families and children, and to knit together the services that help children thrive in these conditions,” said Penn GSE Dean Pam Grossman.
Jolley Bruce Christman, GED’71, GR’87, and her late husband Steven S. Goldberg, GR’85, support graduating doctoral students at Penn GSE for their work in urban education.
